Dosa

One of my most favorite spaces is the Dosa store and showroom in downtown Los Angeles. Stepping into Dosa 818 is like being transported to a temple, but it’s housed in an urban loft and somehow this all works perfectly! Christina Kim has curated a perfect space that is part gallery, part showroom for jewelry, simple clean clothes, and house hold wares. The clothes all designed by Kim, have such a pure simplicity to them that they can be classics in any wardrobe. Kim works with indigenous textile workers globally keeping their crafts alive. She has explored hand made crafting techniques that are becoming extinct like indigo dying, hand painting on silk, tea staining, and khadi hand spinning from India.
