I first met Marlien Rentmeester in high school when her and her twin sister Coliena moved out here from glamorous New York. Marlien always exuded elegance and style even in her bikini at Will Roger's Beach when we were teens. She later moved back to NYC and the settled here in LA as the west coast editor of Lucky Mag. She has capitalized on that unique blend of high end taste to create her site Le Catch. What sets Le Catch up from other fashion sites, is that Marlien keys in on designer trends and how one can achieve the same look for a reasonable price. Her mixing of designers with vintage appeals to my sensibility and is also seen in her home design. Here is a mini interview with the marvelous Marlien!

1) What inspires you? Everything from literature to photography to street style to my children.
2) What is your favorite look for Spring? I love all the vivid ethnic prints (from Derek Lam to Altuzarra), especially mixed together--fit for a globetrotter!
3) What do you like about our city of Angels? Even though I moved from New York to LA over ten years ago, I still relish the fact that I can picnic on the beach in the middle of January.
4) Who is your fashion icon? I draw inspiration from a handful (or more!) of stylish women, which includes my twin sister, stylist Giovanna Battaglia, Shala Monroque, Jenna Lyons, and random chic women on the streets of New York and Paris.
5) What is your beauty secret? Three-mile soft-sand jogs
6) Is there a local or green designer you like? Heidi Merrick designs clothes that are relaxed and sophisticated at once--very LA!
7) Are you a mermaid or forest fairy? A mermaid through and through
8) Where or what is your favorite meal? Lunch--Linguini vongole, burrata and tomatoes, fried zucchini, and a glass of rose or two!--at La Fontelina in Capri
9) What is your dream vacation? A European extravaganza with my family that would being in Todi, Italy, where my husband and I were married eleven years ago to Rome to Paris to London to Corsica, Formentera, Mallorca (where my twin sister was married!) to Berlin (where I've never been).
10) What book is on your nightstand? Wild From Lost to Found on the Pacific Trail
