Dark circles and puffiness under the eyes can be caused from various things like exhaustion, a vitamin A or K deficiency, heredity, age, lack of minerals,  or allergies. Firstly, it’s important to see what is causing it and then remedying the issue. Eating fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C and K help with this. Herbs like sage, oregano, thyme contain vitamin K. Secondly, there are ways to naturally brighten the under eye area and the skin in general. Having even skin tone really adds to a luminous beauty. Here are some simple remedies ~

1) Raw Potato
Potatoes have a natural bleaching agent in their enzymes and starch, and they also stay cold for a long time. Either place cold potato slices over your eyes, or grate the potatoes and save the juice. Place some cotton in the juice and place over eyes for 15 minutes. Repeat once to twice a week.

2) Almond Oil
Almond oil has been used by Ayurvedic practitioners for centuries for all it’s incredible bounty. It is brimming with vitamin E and massaged under the skin below the eyes will help reduce dark circles.

3) Lemon Juice
A cotton ball in lemon juice then applied around the eyes can brighten the area. Using this for a few weeks will clear circles for sure!

4) Tea Bags
Black or chamomile tea bags that have been cooled in the fridge. Chamomile tea bags can help with puffiness and the tannins in black teas can reduce the circles.

5) Mint leaves
Mint is naturally an antiseptic and astringent. It can reduce puffiness and dark circles when applied either as a paste or on its own. A powerful blend is a paste made from lemon juice and mint.

6) Witch Hazel
Witch Hazel which comes from steaming witch hazel trees, has been used by Native Americans for centuries. Cotton soaked in witch hazel and placed on the eyes can reduce puffiness and brighten the area. It can also tighten the skin and acts as an astringent.

7) Rosewater and cucumbers.
The usual standbys also work wonders. Sliced cold cucumbers and soaked rose water cotton pads can liven up eyes right away.

8) Cold Spoons.
If you really need a quick pick me up for the gate ways to the soul, then a cold spoon will always do the trick.
