Homemade Rose Cream

It is said that one of Cleopatra’s beauty secrets was using skin creams made of roses. Rose is a natural astringent and the oil has wonderful properties for keeping skin young. The scent also is said to open the heart. Here is a relatively easy recipe for a natural rose cream.

8 drops of Rose Oil

2 oz almond or coconut oil

1/2 oz beeswax

Vitamin E

Slowly heat the almond oil, beeswax and rose oil. Beeswax is the thickener, so the more you add, the thicker the cream. It’s best to start with just a little.┬áIf you find that the cream is too thick, simply reheat it and add more almond oil. Then add vitamin E to the cream.

  1. Hey shiva, can you recommend a high quality, lovely rose oil? I haven’t quite found “the one” extraordinary oil I’d like to use? thx, Renee

    • Hello Renee. I am actually working on one right now. Also I will posting about Weleda which have great one.Thank you!

  2. Hi Shiva Rose, did you use an essential oil? Any particular type of rose oil – rose absolute, rose essential, etc? I hoping to head out to buy ingredients today.

    Thank you Diana

    • Hello Diana. I think an absolute may work best but an essential oil is fine too. I used one I have had for years by Aura Casia.
Let me know how it turns out!

      • Thank you shiva for getting back to me so quickly. I am excited to make this. Actually thinking about making some for gifts for the holidays. Big hugs from a rainy san francisco.
