Mariel Hemingway and her partner Bobby Williams have launched a new book on seizing your life called The Willing Way: Stepping Into the Life You're Meant to Live. There is also an incredibly moving documentary coming out soon about Mariel and her family history called Running From Crazy. Mariel is inspiring in so many ways. This is the gift I discovered right outside my front door. I was able to call someone from Backyard Beekeepers to have the colony moved safely into my hive in the garden. More to come on this new adventure into the world of bees and honey.
Since it is almost Spring more and more colonies may be on the move. If you happen to have a lost one in your area call someone from Backyard so they can find a safe place for these fascinating creatures. Most bee removers will just destroy them and we need all the honey bees right now to help with our planet.

My little one Lola has been making offerings since she was a wee one. I think she is most connected to the natural world out of everyone in our household. She is happiest playing outside picking up flowers, twigs, rocks, sea shells at the beach, feathers on hikes. Island Mermaid Daughter of the Sun posted some amazing earth offerings she has made from Kauai to Peru on her site . She does one every month to honor her life and various milestones. This seems like a perfect activity to do with the littles. Instead of building legos made of plastic why not create an offering for our Great Mother. They are temporary and transient a good representation of our lives and how to enjoy each moment. They can be made with whatever is flowing in abundance around you.
