The Land Of Enchantment Yoga Retreat

Sante Fe, New Mexico, Kundalini Yoga

As I wrote in the newsletter last week, I had a wonderful opportunity to visit New Mexico for seven days of Kundalini Yoga in June. It was a life changing experience where I was able to be surrounded by natural beauty, and a deep practice. My older daughter Colette and I stayed at a sweet house in Santa Fe. After she departed on day 4, my dear friend Dana came and completed the white tantric experience with me. Here are a few highlights from visiting the charming city of Santa Fe, and the spiritual retreat of 3HO in the mountains of Espanola. There were visits to the local Farmer’s Market in Santa Fe, where South-Western ingredients are in great abundance, the Georgia O’Keefe Museum, and an amazing tea house on Canyon Drive that carries every tea imaginable from pear ginger Rooibos, to Lavender Earl Grey.

The journey to the sacred land that was given to Yogi Bhajan by the Hopi Tribe takes about an hour from Santa Fe. Once we arrived there to the top of the dry, arid mountain we felt like we had reached a sort of heaven. There were thousands of beautiful, smiling people wearing all white (white magnifies ones aura) and the white tents that housed the classes seemed to be floating in the sky like the clouds above. There was a tremendous bazaar inside the center of the camp that carried sheepskins, sacred jewelry, and organic treats. I got a special lesson in wrapping my hair in a head wrap by my beautiful friends GianPrem and Dharamgeet (Jaclyn Hodes). It seems I still have some hair growing to do! After seven hours of intense White Tantric my friend Dana and I escaped to the most incredible Mineral hot springs in Taos New Mexico, Ojo Caliente. What has stayed with me the most from the experience is the sense of community and how vital it is for our evolution.
