June Bloom

June Bloom

june gloom seems to have descended upon our fair city but as the days wears on, the sun begins to inevitably peak through.

I was just denied health insurance by the fourth company I applied to. I am completely healthy, but years ago I was diagnosed with auto immune issues, and although I am in remission the insurance companies refuse to take me on. I had SAG insurance for years until that situation changed due to the business slumping. I realize Obama is not our savior as we had hoped, but he has put in effect a plan where in 2014 insurance companies cannot deny people with existing issues. I have to commend him on that at least. I am grateful I have access to holistic health care so I can practice prevention like the Chinese do. In China you pay your doctors to keep you well. When you get sick you stop paying. It seems so backwards here. I feel for those who cannot get insurance and are gravely ill. What happens to them?

This week on The Local Rose we will meet Susan Weed who has kept women well in many ways. We will discover Hepp Salt, Hamadi hair products and Kneeland Co. Textiles. That and so much more. The sun will get brighter every day and then we be in the throes of summer  . . .
