Wooden Spoon Herbs

Wooden Spoon Herbs

More and more I am reaching towards the plant world to remedy ailments for my family and I. Since a teen I have been always had one of Susan Weed’s books close at hand, and have been drinking plenty of infusions for general health and vitality. My usual blend is making a large mason jar of nettles and red clover for beautifying skin, hair, and hormonal health. If for some reason I want to add some heart opening linden or libido boosting oat straw then I will venture over to Simples Tonics in Santa Monica. You can also make these at home by steeping the herbs in hot water over night.

I was so happy to discover Wooden Spoon Herbs to my regime of plant love medicines. Herbalist and forager Lauren Haynes, has created a very rich and complete apothecary on her site with everything from cough relief to migraine relief. She carries salves, tinctures, creams, teas, syrups and more. I love that she gathers all the herbs from her region in The Appalachian region. After all that area would hold much of this lands heritage and traditions.

I am a huge fan of the Rose Elixir (of course) and the Breast Butter which we carry on The General Store. As Nadine Artemis has shown us, keeping up breast health is critical for us as ladies. This cream isĀ Infused with lymph moving herbs like calendula, violet, and red clover, Breast Butter helps your fingers glide over your beautiful breasts, getting your lymph fluids moving while increasing resistance to any unwanted lumps or bumps. Incorporate this luscious cream into your breast massage routine!

About Wooden Spoon Herbs

Wooden Spoon Herbs is a small-batch southern Appalachian apothecary. Rather than tap into the booming global herb trade, where herbs are imported from countless countries and travel countless miles, our products are thoughtfully made with American-grown herbs. Founded by an herbalist, writer, forager, and gardener born & raised in Tennessee, Wooden Spoon Herbs’ focus is using traditional Appalachian plants, both wild and cultivated, in global ways.

We offer our plant medicines in every approachable incarnation – tinctures, salves, creams, sprays, syrups – and strive to bring you high vibrations in every package.

The plants we work with have been either lovingly picked by our own hands, sourced from small family-run medicinal herb farms or grown with the utmost care by local farmers and foragers in our bioregion.

Wooden Spoon Herbs aims to inspire and empower our community to take self-care into their own hands in a very real and connected way. Seasonal medicine, staying close to our roots, and utilizing the bounty of our bioregion are at the forefront of my creations.
