Raquel Allegra = Artistry in Motion

I first met Raquel years ago when she was a sales girl at Barneys. Years later when I began to see her incredible shredded, deconstructed T-shirts around town, I knew a star was born. She was using worn T-shirts from LA County Jail inmates, and creating gossamer, ethereal visions with them. She is one of those local artists who has taken something disposable in our society and transformed it into beauty. Her Raquel Allegra line is now a full blown design house selling at most high end department stores and boutiques.  The film for her Holiday Collection is a must see. Combining dance and fashion in a magical way.
