Maca Vanilla Smoothie Recipe

Superfood smoothies

Making super food smoothies is an addiction around Rose Land. These days I’m enjoying adding a few key ingredients to the already tasty maca vanilla smoothies. For added nutrition I add Navitas Naturals Lucuma Powder.

Lucuma is referred to as the ‘Gold of Incas’ for it’s beta carotene rich nutritional value and has a nice maple taste. For added natural sweetenes I also add SunFood Sweet Mesquite Powder Organic . Mesquite is a traditional Native American food that has lots of wonderful minerals and amino acids like zinc and lysine. Mesquite gives the smoothies a slight maple/carmel taste. Once in a while as a treat for the kids I add Spectrum Essentials Chia and Flax Seed Decadent Blend with Coconut and Cocoa. This can take the place of chocolate milk for the kids. The chia and flax seeds add the extra omegas but this does contain some cane sugar. For my treat I like to add Navitas Naturals Cacao Nibs. Cacao has more antioxidant properties than blueberries and wine!

Smoothie Ingredients
2 cups of Fresh Almond Milk (I prefer homemade or home delivered for the ultimate taste) or Hemp Milk
Frozen banana
Added Ice (crunchiness)
Cinnamon
1 scoop of each of the super foods including maca
raw cacao nibs
