Prosperity and Gratitude this Thanksgiving

Being thankful for the gift of life.

This Thanksgiving is one of the first where I won’t be with my daughters. They will be with their father, and so this is a time I can go inward and look at the blessings in my life. Gratitude leads to benefits, this is an energetic reaction. Choosing to celebrate this Thanksgiving as a time of reflection and be quiet in myself is a novel thing.

One of the exercises that I have been following in my Kundalini practice is the notion of creating “prosperity” in my life. Prosperity is different than the idea of wealth or success. Prosperity as discussed by Yogi Bhajan is about enjoying what we do have. How many really successful people have you met that are miserable? What’s the point of fortune or fame if we are constantly in the rat race of wanting more. Creating prosperity in our lives makes us slow down and really have joy in the moments that are joyful. To really take in the monetary value of earning money. To truly revel in that delicious meal, or good company during Thanksgiving dinner.

I have been practicing the property mantra as taught by Guru Jagat below for the past 20 days and hope to reach 40 days. In this way I can feel my life opening and changing my though patterns. Rather then feeling the usual sadness that comes with being away from my daughters, I am embracing the gift of solitude. rather than feeling the need to ‘achieve’ more, I feel relaxed in what I have already accomplished.  I also feel so much gratitude for all of you who have been following this blog from the beginning more than 6 years ago. Happy Thanksgiving and Prosperity to all you roses.

Here is a quote by Yogi Bhajan that describes his idea of property and of course the uses the rose as a metaphor.
Yogi Bhajan said that prosperity “is like a rosebud when it flowers and opens up, and shares its fragrance…When a man or woman is prosperous, it is the fragrance of security, grace, depth, character and truthfulness that a person can share. Like a candle emits light, a human emits prosperity.” Prosperity begins with our internal attitude, and flows outwardly. When we connect with an internal attitude of prosperity, we become like a magnet. The abundance of the universe flows to us without stopping.
Yogi Bhajan taught 3 Laws of Prosperity, which if put into practice will adjust your attitude completely.

Be kind to everyone.
Never speak ill of others.
Never speak ill of yourself.

    Dear Lovely Aquarian Sister,
Thank you for being the rose that shares its fragrance. I hope to see you again (maybe not at Starbuck’s) but possibly over a cup of tea. 🙂
