Tips For A Green Halloween

October 31, 2013 | 0 Comments

Green Halloween, non toxic halloween

I recently collaborated with a wonderful site on Parenting and all things for children called Kids In The House.  This site is an incredible resource for everything relating to having a family, like choosing the right pediatrician, dealing with grief, recognizing learning issues, health, and so much more. Their roster of experts is quite extensive from divorce lawyers to spiritual leaders like Marianne Williamson.

I recently filmed a few videos for Kids In The House like this one on Tips For a Green Halloween. Some of the tips include:

1) Giving treasures from nature for Halloween like seashells, acorns, dried flowers and crystals.

2) Giving the sprites a big healthy meal before trick or treating so they won’t gorge themselves on too many sweets.

3) Editing the candy. I have no shame in going through the candy and deciding what is too toxic for them. This may elicit some tears but after a few years it becomes routine in the house.

4) Make sure any face makeup is lead free and not too toxic.

5) Recycle costumes. There is a great site for recycling costumes in your neighborhood

6) Make home made costumes.
