In Iran as a child, I began ballet classes with a Russian trained dancer. It became my first love, and later as a preteen in California, it became my passion. Everything from the costumes to the music of various ballets would take up my research time. Later when I realized I would never be a prima ballerina, I transitioned into acting and theater. I’m so grateful though for the years in which I had an appreciation for the craft. It probably saved me from being swept up in troublesome moments that plague us as we are growing up. I realize more and more having ballet and later theater were anchors for me. This is why introducing arts to children is a must. It can Completely unlock someone’s destiny and give them a roadmap to maneuver through life.

I am a huge fan of Live The Process new line of ballet-inspired wear. This is a site that has been connecting the dots to movement and wellness for years. Kristine Lo and I had a magical day creating dance inspired images in my garden. It reminded me why it’s integral to move . . . Always keep moving . . .

  1. Thank you for sharing this personal portion of your journey. While you still enjoy ballet and the process,it is here where the greatest enjoyment arises.you are free from the rigid constraints of the practice.love how you still emerge in class,as the movements tone and stretch the muscles and leave one renewed.enjoy.
